Carol Janda
I am a member of Sequim Arts and a Signature Member of North West Watercolor Society. My work is shown at Blue Whole Art Gallery in Sequim , The Landing Art Gallery and Waterfront Art Gallery in Port Angeles .
I grew up in western Maryland, educated as a teacher at Frostburg University.
Years spent with the Park Service at Yellowstone and Glacier Bay, Alaska encouraged me to paint and continue exploring creative work. After 15 years at Glacier Bay moving to the “Lower 48” gave me the opportunity to study with some fine painters – Del Gish, Morris Shubin, Bob Landry, Chris Schink, Carol Barnes, Erik Weigardt, Leo Smith, Tom Nicholas, and Arne Westerman and others
The Elements and Principles of design are my guides for painting watercolor, oil monotypes, oils and pottery. Creating stoneware pottery shapes by wheel or hand built for decorating with dragonflies, pine cones and unique glazes provides a tactile hands-on balance to painting.
Lavender Festival Posters 2010 and 2002
The landscape and seascapes of the Olympic Peninsula, Olympic National Park scenes, gardens and flowers are favorite subjects as well as lavender. Please visit my website which also shows my stoneware pottery.
Thank you for your interest and appreciation of my work.
