Don Nisbett
Don Nisbett was born in Missouri, but spent his life mostly in the
Northwest; including Alaska, Oregon and Washington.
Don took private art lessons in 1972 at the age of 12 and enjoyed drawing, watercolor and calligraphy at Clackamas High School. In 1978 he was featured as the "Artist of the Week" in a local paper in Milwaukie, Or. and received a "Certificate of Excellence" in 1979.
He spent about seven and a half years at Pacific Power and Light where he worked in the mapping department and was the unofficial corporate cartoonist.
He attended Portland State University where he took drawing courses in 1980 and went to the Portland Advertising Art School learning sign painting and cartoon techniques.
In 1985 he started painting on Myrtle wood and sea shells for the Chalet Gift Store and did freelance work for Pacific Power and Light for many years.
In the early 90's, Don explored watercolor art as well as pen and ink. He did some sign painting as well as advertising and window art.
Don worked as a salesman in the northwest servicing paper mills and sold his art along his travels...
It wasn't long before he hooked up with his now business partner and wife Jenna. Combining their creative talents, they started "Paint 'N the Town Red" in 1999...
A decade later, you can still find them "Paint 'N the Town Red" on the SW Washington Coast where they live with their 7 year old son. Together, Don and Jenna have 4 kids and 2 grandchildren.
