LeRoy Beers
Before I retired in 2004, I had taken several craft classes, learned silversmithing, and dabbled in charcoal and pastels. For a few years I taught jewelry classes using silver and polished stones. Then came furniture making, which I still enjoy today.
After moving to Sequim, I began searching for classes in watercolor and painted with Robert Brown for four years. Then classes with Carol Janda, Melissa Penic and workshops with Tom Lynch gave me background I needed to stretch.
The original barns in and around Sequim are now the main topic of my watercolors. However, I have not abandoned my love of the Western Washington coast scenes. The lushness of the area has enhanced my paintings, and I will be forever grateful that I found the Olympic Peninsula and Sequim as my home.
